He earned his medical degree in Sudan in 2011 and subsequently completed his internal medicine residency at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis. There, his exceptional clinical expertise and leadership qualities earned him the role of Chief Resident. During his tenure, he was honored with the esteemed Best Resident in Ambulatory Clinic Medicine award, highlighting his outstanding contributions to patient care and medical education.
Following his residency, Dr. Hamid pursued a prestigious rheumatology fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis/Barnes-Jewish Hospital, one of the nation's leading medical institutions. During this fellowship, his exemplary dedication to patient care, research, and teaching was recognized with the Distinguished Fellow Award—a testament to his commitment to excellence, education, and providing exceptional medical care to his patients.
In addition to his work at Washington University, Dr. Hamid provided exceptional care to veterans at the St. Louis VA Hospital, demonstrating his deep respect and gratitude for those who have served the country.
